My Tracks
My Tracks by Google is an outdoors and fitness application for the HTC Incredible and Android. It lets you track your hiking, running, or jogging routes via GPS and then sync them with Google Docs and subsequently share them and view other tracks shared by other my Tracks users. It also calculates and tracks your speed, elevation gains, and distance as you go about your jog or hike. You can use this app for almost any outdoor activity, from camping out to rowing on your favorite lake. The GPS and maps capabilities will come in very handy for any of these class of activities.
The app can appear a little bar-bones, with no fancy graphics or pretty elements. But the functionality is there all the same, and its sparse interface can be a boon when you’re out in the wilderness and can’t be bothered to squint in the sunlight against fancy color schemes. The sync with Google Maps and Google Docs is the most valuable feature, allowing you to see and import maps shared by others – invaluable in discovering new trails and paths that you wouldn’t have seen otherwise. An excellent and functional app for your HTC Incredible.
