Sky Map
Sky Map by Google is a fun little application for your HTC Incredible that uses various aspects of your smartphone to convert it into a miniature live planetarium. With Sky Maps, just launch the app and point your camera at any part of the night sky. The app will overlay information about the stars in your view, as well as planets and constellations. It’ll also let you search for a celestial body and then guide you with a big red arrow until you have it within your viewfinder.
Sky Map is very good at showing you detailed information about the more important visible stars as well as all of the planets in our solar system. Constellations and specific stars, such as the pole star, are very easy to find with this application. It’s also surprisingly fast, with no noticeable delays in pulling up information as you scan the night sky with your smartphone. The novelty does wear off after a while, but reemerges every time you are around kids. A fun and interesting Android app for your HTC Incredible.
